Yuldong Park is a large urban neighborhood park located in the Bundang area of Seongnam. Since its opening in 1999, the park has become a favorite weekend hangout, frequented by residents of Seongnam and Seoul. This well-equipped park has a 45-meter bungee jumping site, a large fountain and a 33-acre reservoir encircled by a 2.5 kilometer promenade/bike path. Other facilities include a 13 meter-high artificial rock climbing wall, badminton center, children’s playground, foot acupressure path, grass plaza, year-round flower garden, field of reeds and theater. The park is also a popular date course for couples at nighttime as there are many quiet cafes located near the reservoir.

Korean Deungjan Museum (한국등잔박물관)

Deungjan, Korean lamps that used to light up the nights in Korea, have all but disappeared into the ‘back streets’ of history. However, they have now been gathered in one place – the Korean Deungjan Museum – where their enchanting flames are once again illuminating Korea. Based on materials that were collected for roughly 40 years by the now octogenarian Dr. Kim Dong-hwi, the Korean Deung-Jan Museum was established in September 1997 as a theme museum of Gyeonggi Province in Neungwon-ri, Mohyeon-myeon, Yongin City, Gyeonggi Province. The museum was built to mimic the image of the fortress walls in Hwaseong, Suwon, and as a result the building bears a resemblance to a lighthouse. The first and second floors of the building, which has one underground floor and three floors above ground, are exhibition halls. The basement floor is a rest area for seminars and a wide range of performances. There is also an outdoor exhibition space that measures around 2,644 square meters and includes native rocks, various types of trees, and a pond.

Yongin Hobak Deungbul (Pumpkin & Lamp) Village is a traditional themed farming village located just 25 kilometers out of downtown Yongin. Namhansanseong Trail is a historical-themed path designed to provide an experiential journey through the Namhansanseong Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This lengthy elliptical fortress is built on rugged terrain at an elevation of 500 meters, with walls spanning a circumference of 12.4 kilometers. Offering a total of five routes, the trail presents breathtaking scenery and adds charm with pathways that closely follow the fortress walls.

Geomdansan Mountain (검단산)

Geomdansan Mountain (alt. 657 m) is one of the major mountains in Hanam. During the Baekje period, it was a sacred mountain where the kings would offer ceremonial services to the gods. From the summit, one can get a great view of Yangsuri, where the Namhangang River and Bukhangang River meet, as well as Hanam, Seoul, Yangpyeong, and Paldangho Lake area.

Due to its proximity to the Seoul Metropolitan Area, it is a popular day trip course. Getting there is easy and the hiking trails, which are not too difficult, are well maintained. From the summit, one can get a great view of Bukhansan Mountain and Dobongsan Mountain in the distance. Hikers can also see Paldang Dam to the east, Yongmasan Mountain to the south, and the Jungbu Expressway to the west.

Paldangho Lake (팔당호)

Paldangho, a man-made lake, lies beside the townships of Toechon-myeon and Namjong-myeon in Gwangju-si, Gyeonggi-do. Sueojangdae Post (Defense Commander's Post) is a two-story military facility used as a lookout post as well as for directing battles. This structure was built on the western side of Namhansanseong Fortress as one of the four command posts. During the Manchu Invasion of 1636, King Injo personally commanded and encouraged the troops from here. They held out for 45 days against a Qing force of 120,000, before finally being forced to surrender and accept vassal status to the Manchu Empire.
