Cheongpyeong Lake is an artificial lake that was formed with the construction of Cheongpyeong Dam in the Bukhangang River. Surrounding mountains and lake landscapes blend together harmoniously creating breathtaking views and is fast becoming a choice destination in Korea.

Near Cheongpyeong Lake there is an amusement park as well as numerous summer homes. On the nearby lake, one can enjoy water skiing and a host of other recreations. In addition, accommodation is also available making this destination a famous vacation spot all-year-round. Around Cheongpyeong Lake, there are a total of 30 boating areas for water skiing, motor boats, jet skis, banana boats, and various other water activities. All instrument rentals and lessons are also available.

Baengnyeonsa Temple is surrounded by mountains, as it is located off Yongmunsan, Myeongjisan, and Daegeumsan Mountains. On each side of the temple, one can also find Unaksan Mountain as well as Cheonmasan Mountain. In addition, just behind the temple are Chungnyeongsan Mountain and Seorisan Mountain.

This temple was built relatively recently, so the temple only has a few cultural treasures. However, as compared to the average temple in Korea, it is distinguished by its well-designed and refined architectures. The decorations in the temple are simple, with no overly vibrant colors nor complicated designs so as to help in seeking peace and inspiration.

The temple is also known for its hiking trails and beautiful scenery offered by the surrounding mountains.

River Land, located on the banks of Cheongpyeongho Lake, offers an exciting 50m bungee jump site. Take a leap into the beautiful backdrops of the natural scenery and the clear waters of Cheongpyeong Lake. River Land is different from other bungee jump sites as it uses the 10m-deep waters of Cheongpyeong Lake as a safety precaution rather than the usual air mats, for increased security. River Land also has a variety of water leisure sports, such as waterskiing, wakeboarding, jetskis, banana boat, peanut boat and more, as well as lessons for beginners.

Standing at 1,267 meters above sea level, Myeongjisan Mountain is the second highest mountain in Gyeonggi-do after Hwaaksan Mountain. It is a popular destination all year round, as it offers plenty of resting areas with splendid views of the surrounding nature.

In addition, Myeongjigyegok Valley, spanning 30 kilometers, is a great outdoor picnic spot, while the trail from Sangpan-ri to Ikgeun-ri is the most preferred hiking trail on the mountain.

The Chi-ong Art Museum is a cultural space spreading up the slope of Cheongnyeongsan Mountain in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi-do. Located at the foot of Bonghwasan Mountain in Chuncheon, Gugok Falls with a x_height of 50 m is one of the representative tourist destinations in the Gangchon area. It was named “Gugok” because the falls twist (gok) and turn nine (gu) different times before dropping down, and is also called “Guguripokpo.” Gugok Falls flowing down from a huge stone wall create fantastic scenery. Many tourists visit the falls every year to enjoy cool, refreshing water to overcome the heat wave in summer and to admire a majestic view of the giant ice wall in winter. The road from the ticket booth to the falls is gentle and requires about 20 min walk. It is an easy walking path surrounded by woods and the valley. Visitors can also try to find the nine wooden panels inspired by the spirit of Gugok and designed with Hangeul alphabet “ㄲ” letters (such as 꿈, 끼, 꾀, 깡, etc.). If you go up for about 40 min along the Kkalttak Pass, which is on the right side of the Gugok Falls entrance, you will find Munbae Village, nestled in a basin. The village restaurants are known for local dishes, such as wild vegetable bibimbap and folk liquor. Visitors can also stay overnight at the National Leisure Campground built in the Gukgok Falls Tourist Area.
