Café Hoban Punggyeong is located at Daecheongho Lake’s Cherry Blossom Road, surrounded by the lake and the beautiful mountains. Its signature menu is salt latte and black sesame latte, which offer sweetness with a dash of salty flavor. Other menu items include espresso, juices, and black sesame cookies. Hagye-ri in Okcheon-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, is the hometown of Jeong Jiyong, the poet who wrote the poem "Hyangsu" (Nostalgia). The Jeong Jiyong Literature Gallery is located next to Jeong Jiyong's birthplace. The gallery has a Literature Exhibition Hall, which is divided into four parts: Jeong Jiyong's Chronological History, Jiyeong's Life and Literature, Jiyong Literature Map, and Exhibition of his Original Copy of Prose and Poem.

At the Literature Experience Center, visitors can learn more about literature through various multimedia platforms. The Video Room shows a documentary about Jiyong's life and literature, while the Literature Class is the venue for lectures, poem discussions, seminars, and other literature club activities.

Daebakjip serves saengseon guksu (fish noodles), a folk dish of Okcheon. It is a noodle soup made by boiling noodles in a broth made by simmering freshwater fish for 12 hours. It began as a meal for fishermen who used to fish by the river in the old days, who began putting noodles into their maeuntang (spicy fish stew). Other interesting dishes include dori baengbaeng (glazed deep-fried minnows), tteokgalbi (grilled galbi patties), maeuntang (spicy fish stew), and bingeo twigim (deep-fried pond smelt).

Okcheon Hyangsu Baengni (100-ri) Bike Road is a bicycle path located along the riverside of Geumgang River, where one can enjoy the beauty of Daecheongho Lake and the spirit of poetry in the hometown of Jeong Jiyong, one of Korea's modern poets. Visitors can also stop at Jeong Jiyong Birth House & Literature Library and Janggye Tourist Park by biking along National Highway Route 37, which is famous for cherry blossoms. This bicycle path is relatively easy to travel on and is suitable for beginners. It became even more popular after being featured on the TV show "1 Night 2 Days."

Daecheongho Lake is a man-made lake, stretching from Daejeon to Cheongju-si, Okcheon-gun, and Boeun-gun. Construction began in 1975 and finished in 1980, and the lake supplies water for various use to people in Daejeon and Cheongju.

The reservoir water spans an area of over 72.8 ㎢ with a perimeter of 80 kilometers, and the water kept in storage has a volume of 1.5 billion tons, making the reservoir the third largest lake in Korea. The area is famous for its beautiful driving course along a tree-lined road through the nearby mountain which has an altitude of 200 to 300 meters. Also, resident birds and migratory birds, such as white heron, can be seen during summer in the upper region of the lake.

Gujeolsa Temple is a Buddhist temple located deep within the Sikjangsan Mountain in Okcheon. It was founded in 1393 and was rebuilt in 1933 to its present appearance. The road from the radio tower fork to Gujeolsa Temple in Sikjangsan Mountain’s hiking trails is lush with acacia trees, which are in full bloom in May. Another sight that should not be missed is the fog shrouding the foot of the mountain in spring and fall.

Daecheongho Obaengni (500-ri) Road is a 220 kilometer walking path passing through the Daejeon (Dong-gu, Daedeok-gu) and Chungcheongbuk-do (Cheongwon, Okcheon, Boeun) areas. The road passes Daecheongho Lake, small streams, trekking roads, a forest trail, an old path, and much more. The "obaengni" (500-ri) from the name of the road comes from the distance from Seoul or Busan to Daecheongho Lake, which is 500-ri.

Several mountains at an altitude of 200-300 meters and lots of greenery surround Daecheongho Lake. The area also has a date course, a meditation course, a trekking course, a family trip course to experience rural culture and cultural exploration, a bike course and other themed courses. The road was awarded an Asian Townscape Award by the UN-Habitat Program.

Near the road are tourism attractions like the Daecheong Dam Water Culture Center, Daecheongho Sculpture Park, Daecheongho Art Museum, Daecheongho Natural Ecology Center and others. In addition, there are historic cultural tourism spots like Cheongwon Cheongnamdae, Munui Cultural Properities Site, Boeun Songnisan Mountain, Okcheon Dujunbong Peak, and the birthplace of Jeong Jiyong and Yuk Yeongsu.
