Nestled at the foot of Maraesan Mountain (alt. 385.2 m), Chungminsa Temple (Historic Site No. 381) was built by Lee Sieon (unknown - 1624), and was commissioned by Lee Hangbok (1556-1618) after the Imjinwaeran War (Japanese Invasion) upon King Seonjo's (1601) command. The shrine was forced to be demolished by Japan in 1919, and only two sections remained. In 1947, they were then rebuilt by local residents in the end. It was designated as Historical Site No. 381 on June 1, 1993.

This stone used to be 100 m away but was moved to its current site when a detour road was built.

Located on the Yeosubando Peninsula, the city of Yeosu is made up of three historic areas that share the Sino-Korean character “Ryeo” (beautiful: 麗) in their names, namely Yeosu-si, Yeocheon-si, and Yeocheon-gun. The trio was integrated and became one city in April of 1998. Jasan Park is located at the entrance to Odongdo Island’s embankment. It is a place where one can have a view of the city of Yeosu, Odongdo Island, and the sea at Namhae. Climb the steep stairs to the top and find thousands of evergreen trees and plants, planted on a wide plateau. The park also has a 15-meter statue of Admiral Yi Sun-sin, the largest in Korea, unveiled as a part of the great hero’s birthday in 1967 and the first Jinnamje Festival. Inside the park are Jasangak Pavilion and Chunghontap Tower overlooking the sea. Ilchuljeong Pavilion was added in 1998 to serve as a refuge for the citizens of Yeosu.

Jinnamgwan Hall (National Treasure) is located at the site of the Jeolla Province naval base during the Joseon dynasty. At that time, it was a watchtower called Jimhaeru, where Admiral Yi Sun-sin commanded his forces during the Imjin War (1592-1598). The original building burned down near the end of the war, and Admiral Yi Sun-sin's successor, Yi Si-eon, constructed Jinnamgwan Hall, a large gaeksa (government officer guesthouse) at the site in 1599.
Jinnamgwan Hall is a single-story gable-roofed building with 15 kan (traditional Korean measurement between two pillars) on the front and 5 kan on the sides. It is the largest single-story goverment building from the Joseon dynasty in the region. At the hall entrance is a small museum outlining the history of Jinnamgwan and the Imjin War, and the famous Yeosu Stone Statue (Jeollanam-do Tangible Cultural Asset) is located within the precincts of the hall. Nearby attractions include Jasan Park, Odongdo Island, Dolsan Bridge, Chungminsa Shrine, and Manseongni Beach.
