Cheongdo Provence lighting festival changes its theme for every season. There is the Summer Forest Light Festival in the summer, which can be enjoyed with the breeze in the cool forest; the Santa Village Light Festival in the winter; as well as the Retro Emotional Light Festival and other festivals depending on the season and holidays. Daegu Arboretum is located at the site of an old sanitary landfill. The restoration of the area passed through many stages from 1996 until the opening in May 2002. It is home to more than thousands of species of plants including giant cacti, flowers, medicinal herbs, and trees in 21 gardens. The arboretum serves as an ecological education center and rest area for Daegu citizens. Ecology experience programs for students and young children are held regularly during summer vacation. Nearby attractions include Apsan and Duryu Parks, as well as Palgongsan and Biseulsan Mountains.

Hyanggyo Local Confucian Schools were government-run provincial schools established separately during Korea's Goryeo and Joseon periods. It was a place for achieving success in government or for holding ancestral rites. Cheongdohyanggyo Local Confucian School was first built in 1568 in the middle of the Joseon dynasty and has been relocated twice. This location is known as the burial place for Toegye Yi Hwang, the face of Korea's 1,000 won note and a historical figure who established Confucianism in Korea. One can see the shape of a tile-roofed hanok, and flowers and trees surround it, making it a nice place to stroll.

Gachang Original Bread, a renowned steamed bun bakery in Daegu, is celebrated for its jjinppang (steamed buns), a beloved traditional snack in Korea. This shop's success inspired the opening of other establishments selling steamed buns and dumplings in the area, eventually leading to the creation of Gachang Jjinppang Street. Since its opening in 2000, the bakery has committed to selling only buns made on the same day, meticulously kneaded and rolled by hand. Namsan Valley finds its source in a modest stream located on the northern slopes of Namsan Mountain in Cheongdo. This charming valley, adorned with rocky cliffs and crystal-clear waters, provides a refreshing respite from the sweltering summer heat. At the entrance to the valley, you'll encounter the Cheongdo Stone Ice Storage, a historical gem and the oldest stone ice storage facility in Korea. Strolling further along the valley, you'll find lines of intriguing rocks, carved with poems, including Chwiam and Ungeumcheon. These natural landmarks served as gathering spots for Seonbi, scholars from the Goryeo and Joseon periods, who came here to revel in the beauty of nature and craft spontaneous poems, fostering a deep appreciation for the arts.

Cheongdo Seedless Persimmon Festival is held in October at an outdoor stage in Cheongdo-gun. ‘Bansi’ (seedless persimmon) features an astringent taste with a flat-shape, unlike the long-shape of gotgam (a peeled persimmon that is dried in the sun through natural drafts) spreading through Sangju and Yeongdong. The festival features various events and hands-on programs. This year’s festival will be held online to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
