Dongbaekseom Island (Island of Camellias) is an island located off one end of Busan's famous Haeundae Beach. Although the years of sedimentation have connected the island to the mainland, Dongbaekseom was originally an island and is still referred to as one.

Dongbaekseom Island is easy to navigate thanks to the walking path that is built around it. The island has several attractions, including the monument inscribed with a poem of scholar Choi Chi-won, the mermaid statue based on the legend of Princess Hwagok, and the Nurimaru APEC House. It also offers fantastic views of the Busan shoreline towards Mipo, Dalmaji Hill, Gwangangdaegyo Bridge, and Oryukdo Island. As the name suggests, camellias burst into bloom everywhere on the island from winter to spring.

Mangsando Island, Yujuam, Yujubigak (망산도·유주암·유주비각)

Mangsando Island, a small isle near Yongwon-dong, is noteworthy for its proximity to the rocky formation known as Yujuam, situated about 70 meters southeast. Approximately 1 kilometer from these locations is Yujubigak, a place rich with the legend of Heo Hwang-ok. She was the queen consort of King Kim Suro, who was born in 42 AD and ruled the ancient kingdom of Garakguk. According to legend, Heo Hwang-ok traveled from India and first set foot on Mangsando Island. The story goes on to tell that the stone vessel she was traveling in capsized at sea, resulting in the formation of Yujuam.

This expansive café in Jinhae-gu stands out with its unique outdoor swimming pool. Spread across five levels, the building’s layout is as follows: the ground floor offers parking, the second floor serves as the main café where guests can order beverages and desserts and enjoy indoor seating, the third floor features a lounge with terrace seating, while the fourth and fifth floors house the swimming pool and a rooftop area. Around the pool on the fourth floor, there are parasol-covered seats, with flat seating further back. The pool water is maintained at a comfortably warm temperature ideal for swimming. In addition to a variety of coffee options, the café offers Korean snacks, like tteokbokki and fish cakes, available for purchase on the fourth floor. Busan’s Dongnae Hot Springs is an old and famous hot spring whose historic records trace back to Samguk Yusa, in the 13th Century CE. Nokcheon Hotel’s history traces back to Nokcheonjang, a hot springs facility constructed in 1962 with Dongnae Hot Springs water. The hotel itself was constructed in 1980.
