Gimhae Astronomical Observatory opened on February 1, 2002 as part of the Millennium Commemorative Project that started in December 1998. It was built to satisfy the general public’s curiosity about the universe and celestial bodies, inspire young people, and give everyone a unique, memorable experience. The observatory is shaped like an egg, in memory of the legend of King Kim Suro, the founder of the Garak Kingdom, according to which the king was born from an egg.

It is said that the queen of King Suro, Heo Hwang-ok, was a princess from the Indian country of Ayuta. Since sophisticated navigation equipment had yet to be invented, it can be assumed that she found her way to the Garak Kingdom by following the stars. It is also said that a prince of the Garak Kingdom built an observatory on the highest point of a mud fortress in Jinrye in order to make astronomical observations. The place is still referred to as Bibidan, which means a place to watch the stars.

These historical facts indicate the stars were very important to the Gaya, an ancient kingdom established mainly in the Gimhae area. The peak of Bunseongsan Mountain, where the observatory is located, offers sweeping views of the entire area of Gimhae. The night sky of Gimhae offers a breathtaking sight.

Cheongsapo Daritdol Observatory (청사포 다릿돌전망대)

Cheongsapo Daritdol Observatory, which opened on September 17, 2017, is located in the middle of the closed railroad of the Donghae Nambu Line from Mipo to Songjeong. It is 20 meters high from the sea level, 72.5 meters long toward the sea, and 3 to 11.5 meters wide. A half-moon-shaped transparent floor is installed at the end of the observatory, allowing visitors to feel the thrill of walking on the sea. From right in front of the observatory to the marine lighthouse, visitors can enjoy the beautiful coastal scenery of Cheongsapo and as well as the view of sunrise and sunset while looking at Daritdol, which refers to five neatly lined up reefs.

The Gimhae Arts and Sports Center is a performance hall for high-class performances. Maru Hall is a multi-purpose theater that also contains a moving orchestra shell with a sound reflection board for a smaller concert hall inside the theater. Nuri Hall is an experimental theater for performances in a variety of themes. The center also features the outdoor theater Aedureum Madang, Yunseul Art Gallery, Media Center, Sports Center, and Aram Learning Center, as well as a café and restaurants.

The Ttangmoesan Mountain Forest Trail, wrapping around the Hoedong Reservoir, is distinguished by its red clay path. This trail spans 1.7 kilometers and can be comfortably completed in approximately thirty minutes at a relaxed pace. As you stroll through the lush cypress forest, the cool sensation of the red clay is enjoyable under bare feet. The journey along forest paths and wooden deck walkways also reveals a variety of trees native to the lake marsh environment.

Gimhae Eunhasa Temple (은하사(김해))

Eunhasa Temple is located in Sineosan Mountain in Gimhae, Gyeongsangnam-do. The year it was founded remains unknown, but legend has it that Monk Jangyuhwasang built the temple in AD 1, before the nationwide spread of Buddhism. However, relic pieces found at the temple site indicate the possibility of the temple's establishment in the Three Kingdoms Era. The temple was once burned down together with Dongnimsa Temple during the Imjin War and the architectural design seen today is that of the late Joseon dynasty.

Fruiterie Forest is a fruit cafe located in the forest at the top of Dalmajigogae Hill, a rather unexpected location compared to the vibrant cityscape of Haeundae. The cafe's signature menu includes cold pressed fruit juice and sweet yet healthy fruit desserts. Pets are welcome within the cafe. Nearby attracaations include Haeundae Blue Line Park and Songjeong Beach.
