La forteresse du mont Munsusan (376 mètres) a été construite en 1694, la 20e année du règne du roi Sukjong, pendant la dynastie Joseon. L’objectif était de défendre Gwanghwado, en particulier des invasions maritimes. Les murs de la forteresse se répendent sur 6 kilomètres dont 4 kilomètres qui demeurent non restaurés. Entouré par un paysage magnifique, le haut de la forteresse présente des vues spectaculaires allant aux abords de la Corée du Nord, à l'entrée de la rivière Han jusqu’au large d'Incheon plus loin. Ce lieu offre des paysages superbes à chaque saison. Les Coréens surnomme la montagne Geumgangsan en Corée du Nord comme la «belle montagne».

The Beautiful House with the Glow of Sunset, located on Seokmodo Island of Ganghwa-gun, is a pension where you can appreciate the beautiful sunset in a quiet room. All its rooms have an ocean view. The pension opened in 2000, and the last episode of “The Baby Book of GOD,” an entertainment program of MBC, was filmed at this place. The interior of all rooms is made of logs and hardwood furniture to have a snug and cozy atmosphere. You can relax by looking at the sea all day long in a room rich in the smell of trees, or you can appreciate the setting sun on the terrace attached to each room. ‘CASAMIA SUNSET,’ a cafe run by the pension, is also a good place to see the sea and the setting sun. On a clear day, you can enjoy the scenery of the West Sea while sitting leisurely at the table on the outdoor deck of the cafe. The highlight of The Beautiful House with the Glow of Sunset is the outdoor BBQ place with an ocean view and the Sunset Garden. You can have a special experience enjoying BBQ while the sun sets beyond the sea. There is also an indoor BBQ place with a wide table and a fireplace; thus, it is possible to enjoy BBQ regardless of season and weather. The Sunset Garden is a wild flower garden tended by the owner of the pension who planted the seedlings himself. Different wild flowers bloom and fall off each season, and there are fruit trees, too. Handmade fruit syrups made with the fruits picked in the garden such as plum and quince are used for the beverage served in the café, of the side dishes to be eaten with Assorted BBQ. Walking along the marine promenade from the Sunset Garden, you will soon get to the beach and the vast mud flat where you can enjoy the charm of the West Sea which shows a varied landscape by the alternation of ebb and flood. If you carry a tool, you can experience the tideland catching clams and crabs. The Seokmodo Mineral Hot Spring, which opened in January of 2017, is frequented by travelers who like to bathe in hot springs.

Le viaduc de Yeongjong relie l’île principal d’Incheon avec l’île de Yeongjongdo où se situe l’aéroport international d’Incheon. Avant la construction de ce viaduc, le seul d’aller moyen de se rendre à Yeongjongdo était d’emprunter le bateau. Le viaduc mesure 4,4 km de long comporte à la fois des routes à grande vitesse et des voies de chemin de fer, alors que des bateaux de 10 000 tonnes peuvent passer sous le viaduc. Celui-ci a été construit pour résister aux vents les plus forts et aux tremblements de terre. Le viaduc dispose aussi d’une très belle architecture.

Club de golf SKY72

SKY72, situé près de l’aéroport de Incheon, est le plus grand terrain de golf de l’Asie du Nord-Est. Il s’étend sur 69 300 m² et inclut le Dream Golf Range, le parcours Bada à 54 trous et le parcours Haneul à 18 trous, pour un total de 72 trous.

Le parcours Bada offre une vue imprenable sur l’océan. Ce parcours propose un lac et une zone marécageuse. Le parcours Haneul est agrémenté de collines rocheuses, magnifiquement ornées de falaises naturelles, de montagnes et de vallées.

Chacun des parcours possède une beauté et des caractéristiques qui lui sont propres, pour que les joueurs choisissent l’environnement qui leur ressemble le plus. Le centre du Ginseng de Ganghwa (강화 인삼센터)

La culture du ginseng de Ganghwa commença à l’époque du roi Gojong (1232) de la dynastie Goryeo. En 1920, l’île Ganghwado fut designée comme un endroit idéal pour la culture du Ginseng. Dès lors que la guerre de Corée éclata (1950-1953), les habitants de Gaeseong (à l’origine du nom Ginseng) prirent refuge sur l’île de Ganghwado et commencèrent à cultiver le ginseng à grande échelle, ce qui marqua le début de la fameuse racine de ginseng de 6 ans d’âge. L’île de Ganghwado détient les conditions optimales pour sa culture avec entre autres une terre d’argile, une marne sableuse, et un climat froid influencé par les vents du rivage. Les racines épaisses du ginseng de Ganghwa n’ont aucune cavités ni de parties intérieures blanches. C’est de cette manière que Ganghwa devint le plus gros producteur de cette racine de 6 ans, qui contient un taux très important d’extrait de ginseng rouge, le cheonji. Le Centre de Ginseng de Ganghwa commercialise un ginseng de haute qualité et garantit sa culture, son traitement et sa distribution grâce à l’excellence des efforts mis en place pour fournir des produits sains et fiables.

Fortification de Gapgotdondae (갑곶돈대)

La Fortification Gapgot fut construite en 1679 afin de protéger Ganghwa des invasions. Cet endroit était une position stratégique pour le Royaume Goryeo, qui a subi plusieurs invasions mongoles entre 1232 et 1270. Les huit canons disposés lors de la construction de la fortification sont toujours exposés sur le site.

Daemyeongheon House [Korea Quality] / 남문한옥 대명헌 [한국관광 품질인증/Korea Quality]

Daemyeongheon House is a modern hanok building integrating elements of European architecture. Its interior features design that cannot be found in traditional hanok, such as English herringbone-style floorboards and stained glasses. The kitchen has a well-preserved domestic furnace and items in the style of 1930s, exemplifying the unique atmosphere of this modern hanok. Daemyeongheon is also famous for its connection to Kim Gu (pen-name: Baekbeom), a prominent independence activist: When Kim fled to Ganghwado Island about a hundred years ago, Daemyeongheon was the place he stayed for about three months, and also a place where he presided over a village school. Traces of Kim’s stay can still be found in the building.
Daemyeongheon House is made up of three buildings of the main building, a detached building, and an annex. The area that the guests stay in is the annex. The annex has three rooms, a central wooden-floored hall (daecheong), raised floor (numaru), balcony (jjongmaru), and kitchen. The restroom, which is also fitted with a shower booth, is located outside the building. Since reservations are offered to only one group per day, visitors have the house to themselves during their stay. Because of the building’s unique characteristics, guests are prohibited from cooking indoors; instead, guests are provided with a complimentary breakfast, such as bread, tea, coffee, and fruit.
Paid programs on site include tea ceremony, azalea craft on traditional Korean paper, retro-style clothing rental, and photography. Guided tours are offered twice per day at 14:00 and 16:00. The tour takes about 0.5–1 hr and requires a fee of KRW 10,000 (including tea). However, visitors should check the date before their visit, as the guided tour is not available when there are any guests staying in the house.
