Le centre de Convention Kim Dae-jung est l'un des meilleurs bâtiments de la province du Jeollanam-do, il fut inauguré le 6 septembre 2005. La foire des fleurs de printemps de Gwangju 2015 se tient du 27 mars au 5 avril au centre de conventions Kim Dae-jung autour du slogan « Pays de conte de fée empli du parfum des fleurs ». La première édition du festival date de 2007. Les visiteurs pourront y admirer quelques 200 000 fleurs printanières dans une vingtaine de jardins thématiques.
De nombreux évènements sont également prévus au programme, comme par exemple une initiation à la culture horticole ou encore des spectacles (théâtre de marionnettes, magie, contes pour enfants, danse, ocarina, etc).
