蠹島淨水事業所(自來水博物館及緩速過濾池)是1903年12月美國人Colebran和Bostowick從當時的大韓帝國政府獲得自來水設施的許可，於1906年8月開工，1908年8月所建設完成的公共設施。這是韓國自來水首個水源地設施，具有深遠意義，其中部分設施是英、美製品。竣工當時的一天淨水量是12500噸，可供約165000名首爾市民使用，占當時供水率的32%。送水室是由312.4㎡的磚體瓦屋頂組積式建築，入口有花崗石拱形門，左右有半圓拱形的窗戶，內部是近代式的建築。當時的送水室和緩速過濾池被指定為第72號首爾市有形文化財。
