Ijin Sanghoe is a complex cultural space with a café, a Korean table d’hote restaurant, an Indian curry restaurant, and a prop shop on a large site of 16,000 m2. As befitted for a representative city of ceramics, this space is filled with ceramics right from the entrance. In addition, there are many sculptures outside along the trail, like an outdoor art museum, providing many things to look around. The bakery café, the most famous spot in Ijin Sanghoe, has different designs for each seat, making it fun to choose where to sit. It sells many unique breads made using Icheon rice and various cakes. In particular, visitors can take the ceramic plates along with the bread they picked to their table. A rice ball-shaped bread and a fried egg-shaped bread made from Icheon rice are especially popular. It is a great place to be enjoyed by anyone, regardless of gender or age, as it is a large space full of attractions.

Dongmun Maebanga is where Dasan Jeong Yak-yong, a representative civil servant of the Joseon dynasty and a Silhak scholar, stayed after being exiled to Gangjin. It now operates as a restaurant that serves the curled mallow soybean paste soup he enjoyed. It is right across from Sauijae House, where Dasan lived and devoted himself to education and academic research, so it is recommended to look around before going for a meal. Its signature menu is “Dasan Set Menu,” which comes with the curled mallow soybean paste soup and pan-fried battered clams. Other dishes such as braised red stingray, sea snail salad, and spicy stir-fried marinated pork are all plentiful and delicious.

Lee Han-young Tea Culture Center, located in Gangjin, Jeollanam-do, was established to commemorate the achievements of Lee Han-young, who created Baegun Okpan Tea, Korea’s first tea brand. It is also a place that originated from the promise that disciples of Jeong Yak-yong, the greatest scholar of the Joseon period, made when he returned from exile to provide him with the tea they grew for one year and research achievements every year. As seen from his pen name, Dasan, which means a mountain (san) producing abundant tea (da), Jeong Yak-yong is said to have loved tea very much. Visitors can enjoy a tea ceremony experience of different teas consisting of Jakseol Green Tea and Wolsan Black Tea, as well as making their own tea. Visitors can also taste the rice cake tea that Jeong Yak-yong enjoyed.

Savzak serves a course meal carefully prepared with seasonal ingredients, with only a course menu, “Savzak.” It consists of six to seven dishes, including Jeju pork and radish soup; Damajjim, a dish of steamed seafood and pork; sweet and sour eggplant; grilled pollack roe; and skewers. Customers can enjoy diverse, high-quality dishes made with fresh ingredients and traditional Jeju liquors, such as omegi and gosori liquors. As it only accepts eight to ten customers daily, it operates on a reservation system. For same-day reservations, it is advised to check availability by phone before visiting.

As its name suggests, it is a café that presents bread made from moohwagwa (figs), a specialty of Yeongam. Its two-story building and spacious garden give off a fresh atmosphere. Outdoor terrace seats on the second floor allow visitors to enjoy the magnificent view of the surrounding scenery. The fig bread made in the shape of a fig contains a lot of dried figs, making for a perfect snack. The premium gelato with five flavors—vanilla, dark chocolate, mango, black sesame, and ricotta cheese—is also popular. In addition, the cafe also sells beverages that can be accompanied by bread, such as coconut coffee.

Gamasot baekban (set menu of rice cooked in a cast-iron pot) is served with rice cooked in a cast-iron pot along with 13 delicious side dishes, including braised bean curd, stir-fried mushrooms, bean sprout salad, and stir-fried anchovies, along with briquette-grilled bulgogi. Moreover, customers can order grilled mackerel for an additional 2,000 won per fish. In addition to the set menu, other menu items include healthy gamasot galnaktang (short rib and octopus soup), sondubu jjigae (soft bean curd jjigae), and gamasot cheonggukjang (rich soybean paste jjigae), all cooked in a cast-iron pot for a deep, savory flavor.

Haenyeo’s Kitchen Bukchon Branch was renovated from a fishing village warehouse and is a unique restaurant where visitors can enjoy meals while appreciating the media art in a 360-degree panorama. Only 14 people are invited to a table of dishes carefully prepared by 12 artists to taste a course meal of seafood collected by haenyeo (female divers who collect seafood). While dining, the customers are entertained with media art and a storytelling by a docent that depicts the life of haenyeo divers and their village. The four-course lunch lasts 80 minutes, and the seven-course dinner lasts 120 minutes. Unique dishes, such as shindari, the fermented beverage; sangwetteok, Jeju’s traditional rice cake; uyeongpat with bracken and bean sprouts; Nangpun Set Menu comprised of top shells, red tilefish, seafood wraps, steamed pork slices, vegetables, and other side dishes; omegi rice cakes, become special memories of the trip in itself. Admission is available for those aged 6 or older, and reservations are required.

The restaurant makes their own soybean and red pepper paste, which are stored in the numerous crocks seen by the restaurant building. The restaurant's signature menu is Gangwon Namul Bap (wild vegetable rice set menu). The appetizing wild vegetables such as fisher’s ragwort, cow parsnip, and thistle are seasoned with housemade soy sauce, pastes, and enzymes, giving a deep and rich taste that cannot be achieved with additives or store bought seasonings. Visitors can also purchase soybean paste, soy sauce, red chili paste, and rich soybean paste made in the traditional way.
