Wonjojip is a long-established gopchang (grilled beef or pork small intestines) restaurant in Ulsan. Their menu consists of assorted gopchang gui (grilled beef small intestines) and gopchang jeongol (small intestine hot pot). Wonjojip takes great pride in their gopchang dishes. Gopchang is beef or pork intestines that is usually stir-fried or pan-fried. It’s the same ingredient used for making sausages in European countries, but it’s a challenging food to some due to the distinct smell, taste, and appearance. Nevertheless, it is a popular food among Koreans and known as a stamina-booster for those who struggle with fatigue. Visitors who are not a fan of spicy foods are recommended to try the assorted gopchang gui, and those who like spicy stew are recommended to try gopchang jeongol. The restaurant also offers jeongol gopchang bokkeumbap, which is an after-meal fried rice for those who want more after their meal.

Jeongeonsa Coffee was formerly a stationery store for 50 years before turning into a café. The café created a similar atmosphere to match the previous neighborhood hangout vibe with props and décor. The coffee beans are named in association with stationery items for a nostalgic feel. There are tables, chairs, and storage cabinets to promote a classic atmosphere, as well as photos of the old stationery office and old-style calligraphy posted here and there. The café has just the perfect retro feel to appeal to the younger generation. The signature menu here is Dongbondong Latte and the café uses their own original cream.

Jangan Myeonok is a famous Pyeongyang naengmyeon (Pyeongyang cold buckwheat noodles) restaurant that has been around for 65 years. It’s been passed down for three generations. As its name explains itself, Pyeongyang naengmyeon is a naengmyeon mainly enjoyed in Pyongyang. Dongchimi (radish water kimchi) is mixed with meat broth to make buckwheat noodles. The taste of Pyeongyang naengmyeon varies from restaurant to restaurant, but they all share in common that it’s seasoned lightly to bring out the true flavors of each ingredient. Here, buckwheat noodles are handmade at the restaurant to maximize the flavor of buckwheat. The restaurant also serves jeyuk muchim, the restaurant’s version of jeyuk bokkeum (spicy stir-friend pork) with other added ingredients like bean sprouts and noodles.

The signature menu here is the real vanilla bean latte. The unique, savory flavor comes to life thanks to the generous use of vanilla beans. This signature menu is limited and only offered while ingredients last on a daily basis, so visitors are advised to visit early. Café Badabom is located between Tongyeong Port and Gangguan Port. It is famous for its ocean view and milk ice cream. The 1st to 4th floors of the cafe are all made of glass on one side, perfect for viewing the sea of Tongyeong and the night view. The signature menu here is milk ice cream and “Sokongsokong.” Customers can order the milk ice cream either in cone or cup according to their preference. Furthermore, customers who opt for a cone can also choose between a cookie cone and a waffle cone. Sokongsokong is served on soboru ppang (Korean streusel bun) topped with milk ice cream, soybean powder, and almonds. Most of the seats face the window, making it an excellent place to chat and relax while looking at the sea.

The representative menu is haemul ttukbaegi (seafood hot pot), a dish that uses spicy red pepper powder seasoning for the spicy taste and seafood broth cooked in ttukbaegi (thick earthen pot used for hot stew or soup) with scallops, abalone, crabs, and octopus. The restaurant offers three menu sets of A, B, and C, allowing visitors to taste various dishes to suit their taste. Set A features Tongyeong's fresh seafood menu and mainly consists of haemul ttukbaegi, grilled fish, bajirak muchim (clam salad), and meonggae bibimbap (sea pineapple bibimbap); Set B consists of haemul ttukbaegi and grilled fish; and Set C mainly features anchovy dishes. They also use seasonal ingredients, like oysters in winter.

This restaurant is located in a corner of Gwangjang Market's alley, and its main menu is Yukhoe/Beef Tartare (raw beef made by cutting small pieces of beef with various seasonings). The lightness of raw meat, which cannot be found in grilled meat, and the harmony with the seasoning are impressive. If you eat it with egg yolk, sprouts, and pears served together, you can feel the depth of the true taste of raw meat. If you want to try something a little more Korean-style, try 'Yuktangi,' which comes with Tangtangi (a dish made by pounding wild octopus on a cutting board and cutting it into pieces) and Yukhoe. However, the octopus Yuktangi moves around when the food is served, so you must be careful.
