Jeju Horse Park offers a venue to promote Jeju’s horse culture in an easy and fun way. The park has kept intact the 600-year history of nomadic culture at the site of Gasi-ri Village which used to house Gammajang, the place for raising the best horses during the Joseon dynasty. The park includes the Jeju Horse Museum, Ttarabi horseback riding track, Maeum Cafe, Mongol Yurt Guesthouse, camping site, Art Shop, and an experience place to focus on the Project for a New Cultural Space Creation through the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. The Jeju Horse Museum was the first national museum created by a village and its main theme covers the history and culture of the village. Situated to the east of Jejuhang Port, Sarabong Peak is the main oreum (volcanic cone) that separates the city from the sea. The peak offers views of the ocean to the north and magnificent Hallasan Mountain to the south. It is recommended to reach the top in the late afternoon to catch the reddish glow of the sunset glittering off the ocean.

The name Sanji derives from the area being recorded as Sanjichon Village, literally translated as the mountainous village, in Tamna Sullyeokdo, a book of paintings showing life in Jeju. This record was created in 1702 by painter Kim Nam-gil, under the command of the Jeju Province governor, Lee Hyeong-sang.

Sanjicheon Stream originates from Hallasan Mountain and empties itself into the sea. Sitting halfway up Sarabong Peak, one of the signature parks on Jeju-do island, Sanji Lighthouse overlooks the port of Jeju.

Byeolbangjin Fortress was designated as a Jeju Monument on April 3, 1973. The fortress is about 950 meters in circumference. The oval fortress was built in consideration of the location's topography having a higher terrain in the southern part and a lower terrain in the northern part. Of all the fortresses in Jeju, Byeolbangjin Fortress is in relatively good shape. The fortress is also an important example of how fortresses in Jeju were built and in what scale.
