Yeouido Saetgang Ecological Park in central Seoul was the first ecological park in Korea, opened on September 25, 1997. It houses a wide variety of flora and fauna, including kestrels (Natural Monument No. 323), herons, and minnows. There is a 6 kilometer-long promenade that crosses the park, and information signs explaining various flower and plant species throughout the park.

Situated on the highest floor of Yeouido’s 63 Square, Walking On The Cloud overlooks the Hangang River and downtown Seoul. Its signature menu is the grade 1 hanu ansim steak (Charcoal-grilled Beef Tenderloin Steak), grilled on charcoal, as well as badatgajae gui (grilled lobster), saeu gui (grilled shrimp), pasta, and dalpaengi (snail) dishes. Aqua Planet 63 is an aquarium located on the first underground floor of Yeouido’s 63 Square. In a space about 3,500m2 in total area, the aquarium houses nearly 400 species of aquatic life, amounting to about 20,000 in total. Aqua Planet 63 is divided into a variety of spaces, from the Aqua Planet Garden to the Golden Miracle Zone, Penguin Planet, True Seal Planet, and the Coral Planet. One can even see the mermaid show. Note that a 50% discount is applied on the last Wednesday of every month. As for the 63 Square itself, the golden building by the Hangang River at Yeouido is the building.

63 Buffet Pavilion is a buffet restaurant located at GF floor of Yeouido’s 63 Square. The buffet spread here features dishes from around the world. The most popular feature of the buffet is the chaekkeut steak (strip loin steak), made freshly using top-quality beef. One can also find yanggalbi (lamb chops), hoe (sliced raw fish), chobap (sushi), and daege (snow crab). Note that visitors are required to reserve their spot.

63 Art is located on the 60th floor of 63 Square, a landmark building by the Hangang River. The opening of this exhibition space in the observatory of the building allows the visitors to the 63 Square to enjoy not only the breathtaking view of Seoul and the Hangang River but also works of art. 63 Square is one of the most recognizable landmarks of Korea and the symbol of its rapid economic growth. Like its name, the building has 63 floors, 60 above-ground and 3 underground. The lobby and the outdoor garden exhibits installations created by contemporary artists. 63 Square is known for its golden glass facade, which puts up different ambiences depending on the season and the amount of sunlight. It is the best place to watch the fireworks from the Seoul International Fireworks Festival.

The National Assembly Building stands as the symbol of Korean democracy. It consists of the National Assembly Building, the National Assembly Library, and the Memorial Hall. Because it is a great place to learn about Korean history and politics, it is a popular tourist site. The Yeouido Spring Flower Festival is held on Yeouiseo Road (Yunjung-ro) in mid-April when the azaleas, forsythia, royal azaleas, and other spring flowers are in full bloom. The celebration is famous for its 1,886 Korean cherry trees.

Mapodaegyo Bridge (마포대교 야경)

Mapodaegyo Bridge connects Yonggang-dong, Mapo-gu and Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu. The bridge is 1,400 meters long and 25 meters wide (6-lane road), and was the fourth bridge to be built over the Hangang River, following the construction of Hannam Bridge. The construction of the bridge first started in February of 1968 and was completed in May of 1970. At the time of its completion the bridge was named Seouldaegyo Bridge, but was later changed to Mapodaegyo Bridge in 1984.
