Daecheongho Obaengni (500-ri) Road is a 220 kilometer walking path passing through the Daejeon (Dong-gu, Daedeok-gu) and Chungcheongbuk-do (Cheongwon, Okcheon, Boeun) areas. The road passes Daecheongho Lake, small streams, trekking roads, a forest trail, an old path, and much more. The "obaengni" (500-ri) from the name of the road comes from the distance from Seoul or Busan to Daecheongho Lake, which is 500-ri.

Several mountains at an altitude of 200-300 meters and lots of greenery surround Daecheongho Lake. The area also has a date course, a meditation course, a trekking course, a family trip course to experience rural culture and cultural exploration, a bike course and other themed courses. The road was awarded an Asian Townscape Award by the UN-Habitat Program.

Near the road are tourism attractions like the Daecheong Dam Water Culture Center, Daecheongho Sculpture Park, Daecheongho Art Museum, Daecheongho Natural Ecology Center and others. The Gyeryong World Military Culture Expo is held in Gyeryong-si, Chungcheongnam-do where all three branches of the Korean military are located. What started as a festival to celebrate Korea's national military service members in 2007 has expanded to celebrate the military culture of various countries around the world. The expo aims to promote peace by understanding international military culture, while also looking at the technical aspects of the military for future leaders. Visitors can also enjoy many military band performances and other fun programs.

Located in the east valley of Gyeryongsan Mountain in Hakbong-ri, Banpo-myeon, Gongju, Donghaksa Temple is the first and the oldest existing academic institute for female monks. Home to about 150 monks who study and practice Buddhism, the temple is the most visited spot on all of Gyerongsan Mountain due to its history, convenient location, and visitor facilities.

The elegant structure of the temple is x_heighted by the majestic view of Munpilbong Peak to its front. In the spring, many visitors come to the temple to see the cherry blossom tunnel, a 3 kilometer pathway from Bakjeongja three-way intersection to Donghaksa Temple. Every year since 1993 the temple has also been the venue of the Donghaksa Spring Flower Festival.
