Paragliding is controlled by the power of body weight. Hang gliding and paragliding are both included in manpowered gliders, which refers to gliders weighing less than 50 kilograms in dead weight. Paragliding has the shortest history among air sports, but is the most popular manpower glider.

Anyone can enjoy paragliding and after a 3 to 4-hour training course, participants can take off from a 50 meter steep hill. The total weight of the glide is just 10 kilograms, light enough to carry on one’s back, and carries very little danger if riders follow proper precautions.

Jangamsan Paragliding Field is located near Pyeongchang and the mountain is mainly comprised of stones, making it possible for people to enjoy a real thermal flight experience. The field is suitable for families who wish to enjoy camping with paragliding. The landing field is situated along the Pyeongchanggang River, which is also available for swimming after the flight. The river has a spacious pool on both upstream and downstream, making it a perfect venue for safety clinic education as well.

Trouts House is a unique establishment that combines a trout hoetjib with a trout farm. They meticulously maintain an optimal environment for trout farming, which yields fish with a chewy texture, free from any fishy aftertaste, and characterized by a delicate, clean flavor. The restaurant offers various trout dishes for guests to enjoy. Options include muchim where trout is mixed with vegetables, soybean powder, sesame oil, and minced garlic, and deopbap, where trout is served over rice. In addition to songeo hoe (sliced raw trout), their menu also features songeo gui (grilled trout), songeo twigim (deep-fried trout), and a dish with thistle rice.

Pyeongchang Yukbaekmajigi (평창 육백마지기)

Yukbaekmajigi refers to the peak of Cheongoksan Mountain on the southern side of Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do. The large field is the size of six soccer fields and is 1,256 meters above sea level. The name comes from the saying that the field is large enough to spread 600 mal (Korean unit of measure) of rice seeds. Yukbaekmajigi is easy to reach by car and is becoming a popular eco-friendly tourist attraction. The view from the peak includes an open view of 20 large wind power generators on the vast field. There are also various photo zones for visitors.

Yellow Tree Café (옐로우트리 카페)

Yellow Tree Café, nestled amidst a ginkgo forest beneath Cheongoksan Mountain in Pyeongchang Yukbaekmajigi, is surrounded by 1500 ginkgo trees. This spot is most dazzling during the foliage season from mid-October to mid-November, when the trails are adorned with yellow leaves, creating a picturesque carpet of golden hues. The café offers a delightful menu, featuring specialties like Seoritae latte (Black bean latte), Kkul cake (Honey cake), Omija ade, and crispy toasts. It's an ideal haven for a serene break within the tranquility of the forest.

Geumdanggyegok Valley, located upstream of the Pyeongchanggang River, is a gorge between three different districts of Bongpyeong-myeon, Yongpyeong-myeon and Daehwa-myeon, just west of Geumdangsan Mountain (1,173 m). Geumdanggyegok Valley is an impressive site with sections of both gentle and fast flowing valley waters. From late March through April full-blown azalea covers the mountainsides and valleys providing visitors with a refreshing spring scent.

To reach Geumdanggyegok Valley, travel down along the Pyeongchanggang River from Jangpyeong or trek up the valley from Anmi Elementary School. Coming down to Pyeongchang-eup from Daehwa-myeon area, visitors will encounter an intersection called, “Saechugeori”. The intersection has two parts: Sanganmi and Haanmiri and a sign indicating the Geumdanggyegok Valley entrance. Across the valley, odd-shaped rock formations and cliffs appear one after another along the river. The area is a native habitat for a species of otter (Natural Treasure No. 330) and a favorite spot for catching catfish.

Yeongwol Seopdari Village (영월섶다리마을)

This village is renowned for its crystal-clear waters and vibrant greenery. Adding to its charm is the Seopdari Bridge, a unique structure crafted from wood and other plant materials, which becomes a highlight in wintertime. The bridge is installed in October when the river level decreases, and it remains in place until the onset of rainfall the following year. One of its most distinctive features is the Y-shaped pier, which, along with the bridge's unique design, creates a striking silhouette against the stunning natural backdrop of Yeongwol.

Gariwangsan Mountain is one of the major mountains in the Taebaek Mountain Range. It is a home to numerous alpine tree species, as well as wildflowers and herbs. Its trails are popular thanks to the gentle slopes. Gariwangsan National Recreational Forest is located at the Hoedong-ri Village entrance. The recreational forest has various amenities, but the walking path next to the valley is by far the most outstanding. The thick forest blocks out the sky while purifying the air.

Yeongwol Beopheungsa Temple (법흥사(영월))

Beopheungsa Temple was created by Jajangyulsa in 647, called Heungnyeongsa Temple at the time, under the reign of King Jindeok of Silla to enshrine Jinsinsari of Buddha. At that time, Preceptor Jinghyo earned 100 Jinsinsari of Munsubosal and enshrined them at Yangsan Tongdosa Temple, Odaesan Sangwonsa Temple, Seoraksan Bongjeongam, Jeongseon Jeongamsa Temple and Beopheungsa Temple while establishing Jeongmyeolbogung, Hall of Buddha, at each of the places. Inside the Jeongmyeolbogung there is no statue of Buddha and only a wide open window. This is because it is believed that the mountain as a whole is the enshrined Jinsinsari of Buddha himself.

Beopheungsa was once a large temple where over 2,000 monks gathered. Today, most of the temple buildings were lost to a number of fires leaving only a few buildings. The pine wood path from Beopheungsa Temple to Jeongmyeolbogung is one of the most picturesque sites in the nation. The location was originally named Sajasansa but later changed to Sajasan Jeongmyeolbogung in 1939. In addition to the path, the nine peaks (Gubongdae) lined up one after another forms another charming view.

Pyeongchang Eoreumchi Village is dedicated to preserving the habitat of the Eoreumchi (Cyprinid Fish), a natural monument that thrives in pristine environments. The village offers immersive rural experiences and ecotourism activities. Visitors have the opportunity to engage in water sports like rafting and kayaking on the Donggang River, as well as mountain climbing on Baegunsan Mountain.
