Ilchulbong Hoetjip is known for offering a plentiful fresh raw fish. The menu features a variety of dishes made with fresh, wild-caught fish purchased at an early morning auction. Their hoe (sliced raw fish) is served with side dishes of seasonal seafood and delicious maeuntang (spicy fish stew). The restaurant is located on the waterfront, enabling visitors to dine while enjoying the view of the East Sea. It also features a rooftop on the 5th floor.

Located on the southernmost point of Sokcho, Daephohang Port is known as a place to find quality fish with the rise of Seoraksan Mountain as a popular tourist destination. However, the port was a well-known port even before Sokcho existed. On a map of Korea that was published right after the Korean War, Daepohang Port can be found with other notable ports while the city of Sokcho is not indicated. With the opening of Sokcho and Sokcho Port in 1942, Daepohang Port became a secluded port visited by few fishing boats.

Micheongolgyegok Valley starts from the Yangyang area and ends right before Guryongnyeong Pass. With not many visitors here, the valley is left in a pristine condition. The area is famous for its rich forest, clean water, uniquely shaped rocks, wild flora and fauna, underground mineral water, cultural heritages of the ancient SIlla kingdom, locally produced honey and other forest products. The Micheongolgyegok Valley Recreational Forest is 5,652,000㎡ in size filled with broadleaf trees. At the entrance of the valley is Seollimwon Temple Site, which was originally established under the reign of King Beopheung of Silla and then closed at the end of the Goryeo dynasty. Other relics include a stone lamp, 3-story stone pagoda, Honggakseonsa Monk Pagoda, and a stupa.

Jumunjin Breakwater was made famous as the filming site of the show “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God (2016).” Serving as the backdrop of the two leads’ fateful first meeting, the breakwater still retains its beautiful scenery. Many visitors recreate the scene from their favorite show here.
The breakwater itself is divided into the east and the west parts. The eastern breakwater is 1 kilometer, while the western breakwater is 200 meters long. One can fish for plaice from spring to September, while spotty belly greenling, spipefish, and rockfish can be found in October. From December to March, grey mullet and big-scaled redfin become the main species caught here. The best season to fish here is between October and March.
