Explanation

Nokdo Island is an island located approximately 25km off the coast of Boryeong in the Hwanghae Sea. "Nok" means deer in Korean, and the island was named Nokdo Island because its terrain resembles a lying deer. It's a typical fishing village in Korea, and the surrounding sea is rich in various seafood such as fish, oysters, laver, and shrimp. Visitors can reach Nokdo Island by taking a ferry from the Daecheon Coastal Passenger Terminal in Boryeong.
