Nanta est un spectacle plein d’énergie où des cuisiniers en folie transforment couteaux, planches à découper et autres ustensiles en instruments de musique, dans une performance qui ravira tous les publics, sans distinction d’âge ou de nationalité. Depuis sa première représentation en octobre 1997, Nanta a reçu un accueil triomphal, et continue jusqu’à maintenant à mobiliser les spectateurs. Lors de ses débuts à l’étranger au Fringe Festival d’Edimbourg en 1999, il a obtenu la note maximale. Dès lors, Nanta a continué ses représentations à l’étranger, et fut le premier spectacle asiatique a être présenté à New York sur la scène de Broadway, où il a remporté un succès retentissant. Nanta a attiré jusqu’ici 6 400 000 spectateurs venus du monde entier. Le spectacle a lieu sur une base permanente dans des salles dédiées à Séoul, et il est en bonne place pour devenir un des meilleurs spectacles de Corée. 680 000 spectateurs étrangers ont déjà été conquis, et en 2009, Nanta a reçu le prix du meilleur programme urbain. D’après les visiteurs étrangers, c’est l’activité touristique et culturelle à ne pas rater en Corée.
