Ce musée ayant pour thème les chouettes, comporte nombre d’oeuvres d’art, de pliages, d’objets utilitaires et accessoires en tout genre. Ces objets proviennent de 70 pays tels que la Chine, les Etats-Unis, la République Tchèque ou la Pologne. Plus de 2,000 pièces y sont exposées.

Grand magasin Shinsegae (Myeongdong, siège social) (신세계 백화점- 본점)

Shinsegae a été originellement inauguré comme le magasin Gyeongseong de la chaîne japonaise Miskosi en 1930. Après la libération de la Corée, il est devenu le grand magasin coréen Donghwa. Racheté par le groupe Samsung, il a été renommé « Shinsegae » à l’issue d’une enquête publique.
Le siège social du premier grand magasin coréen se situe au centre de Séoul, dans le quartier Chungmuro, et il est en tête des grands magasins du pays depuis les 70 dernières années.
Bien que situé à Chungmuro, il est considéré comme se trouvant à Myeongdong, car il se situe dans la zone commerciale de celui-ci.
La construction du nouveau bâtiment sera achevée en 2005. Jusque-là, seul le bâtiment principal sera ouvert. Bientôt, la station du métro Hoehyeon mènera au grand magasin. Quoique moins connu, ce grand magasin est plus luxueux et calme, comparé à son homologue Lotte qui se trouve à proximité.

Ses boutiques de hanboks sont spécialisées dans les hanboks traditionnels plutôt que dans les modernes, que l'on pense plus pratiques que leurs homologues traditionnels. De superbes tenues sont disponibles à -30% par rapport aux prix demandés.

Located in Chungmuro, Jingogae (진고개) has been in business for 40 years and by word-of-mouth has become well-known for its traditional food. The most famous dishes are the bossam kimchi (rolled kimchi), galbijjim (steamed ribs), and gaejang jeongsik (seasoned raw crab).

All dishes are made using traditional cooking methods and the restaurant's menu is full of many nostalgic foods, making this a great restaurant option for international visitors hoping to experience the true flavors of Korean cuisine.

Darakjeong has been popular for a long time because of the simple taste of its traditional Mandu (Korean stuffed dumpling). Since its opening in 1991, tasty soup and scrumptious Mandu have been served. A fist-sized Mandu is fully packed with seasoned meat, bean-curd, and various vegetables. Its thick dough makes it chewy and delightful. For one person, “Manduguk”(boiled dumpling soup) is a good choice. The delicious and nourishing taste of Mandu goes well with the sweet, spicy, and fresh taste of the soup. Manduguk is served in a brass bowl which keeps the food warm while eating. For a large-size group, “Mandujeongol” cooked with various vegetables in a casserole is recommended. There are two types of Mandujeongol that have different tastes. The main characteristic of “Kimchi Mandujeongol” is its spicy flavor, which reminds people of the refreshing taste of Kimchi soup, and “Tojang Mandujeongol” expounds on the savory taste of bean-paste soup. Tojang means folk soybean-paste. “Nokdujeon”(a Korean pan-fried dish with green mung bean) is another famous dish at Darakjeong, which is pan-fried with a very light seasoning to emphasize the original taste of Nokdu (green mung bean). Salted oysters with hot pepper are served with Nokdujeon instead of soy sauce, which is a perfect match.
