Pyeonghwa est le marché de la mode à Dongdaemun depuis la fin de la guerre, il y a plus de 60 ans. C’est ici qu’en 1953, des réfugiés nord-coréens ont commencé à vendre des uniformes de l’armée américaine. Le marché a ensuite été nommé Pyeonghwa, signifiant la paix, dans l'espoir que plus aucune autre guerre n’ait lieu sur le sol coréen. Le Marché Pyeonghwa regroupe aujourd’hui plus de 30.000 magasins, formant ainsi le quartier de Dongdaemun. Le marché est aujourd’hui considéré comme l'une des références mondiales pour l'industrie de la mode. Ce marché de la mode est divisé en quatre zones : Gu pyeonghwa, Cheong Shin Pyeonghwa, dong pyeonghwa et Pyeonghwa Fashion Town.

A traditional Korean house expert initially wanted to use it as an office but later decided to turn it into a guest house due to its large size. As a result, the unique beauty of traditional Korean house was revived while improving practicality. The Woojeong room and Sarang room are now resized to accommodate max 8 persons which used to be only max 4 in the past. Despite the remodeling, the aura and atmosphere of the traditional Korean house is well preserved. Inside the room, you can see that the chandelier of the rich house in the '30s are accompanied by modern furniture and electronics which maintain unique harmony. Open the windows to see sansuyu and maehwa along with other various seasonal trees with beautiful colors and also the space such as edges and sewers are well arranged to avoid any discomforts with your eyesight. The heart of architecture offers only two rooms for guests, and you are all welcome to enjoy the true beauty of Korea.

Le parc historique et culturel de Dongdaemun allie les vestiges et l’architecture traditionnelle d’autrefois avec un espace culturel à la pointe du modernisme. Opened in 1953 by a woman known as Mabongnim, the restaurant takes pride in its 50-plus years of service. As Mabongnim gained popularity, other similar establishments opened nearby, and eventually, formed the now famous “Tteokbokki Street.” The elderly proprietor is well known, even starring in a red-pepper paste (gochujang) ad in the 1990's.

The secret of this restaurant’s tteokbokki lies in the fact that red pepper paste is mixed with Chinese soybean paste for a sweet and spicy taste, but has now been adopted by other Sindang-dong restaurants. Nevertheless, there is something special about this restaurant’s fare. At present, Mabongnim’s daughters-in-law are running the restaurant.
