Le Grand Parc de Séoul est un parc à thème en Corée, et contient toutes les sortes de grandes installations pour se distraire ainsi qu’un zoo, qui est en harmonie avec le beau paysage des alentours. Ce parc, d’une superficie de 7.000.000 de km², a été ouvert en 1984. A l’heure actuelle, le zoo a une Gorilla Roland extrêmement rare, et plus ou moins 360 sortes d’animaux, pour un total de 3.200 créatures qui sont originaires du monde entier, et divisées en origines et espèces. Le jardin botanique est partagé en zones de températures différentes, et le zoo est disposé d’une façon pratique. Les shows des dauphins et des phoques sont la fierté du Grand Parc de Séoul. Les adultes comme les enfants de tout âge peuvent se distraire en regardant ces animaux danser. Le jardin botanique loge plus de 1.300 sortes de plantes et la Région Forestière de Relaxation du Mt. Cheonggyesan est grande pour se promener sur les sentiers. Le vaste champ sur lequel le Séoul Grand Parc est dirigé, organise divers festivals de saison. En avril, le Festival des Fleurs doubles des Cerisiers Royaux du Japon; en juin, le Festival des Roses que les amoureux aiment beaucoup, et en octobre, le Festival des Feuilles d’Automne y est tenu pour apprécier les couleurs des feuilles automnales aux alentours du Mt. Cheonggyesan.

Le site des Tombes Donggureung, signifiant « les neuf tombes de l’est », est le mausolée des rois du début de la Dynastie Joseon. Il s’y trouve neuf tombeaux royaux et dix-sept caveaux, dont le tombeau de Taejo Yi Seonggye, le roi fondateur de la dynastie de Joseon (règne de 1335 à 1408). Ce site historique très important par les 600 ans d’histoire qu’il abrite, offre également un magnifique paysage aux alentours très boisés.

La promenade sur les verts sentiers qui longent les tombeaux est particulièrement agréable et vous y verrez sûrement quelque Miscanthus Purpurascens, sorte de fougère violette qui fut importée de Hamheung, le pays natal du roi Taejo Yi Seonggye et qui contribue à la renommée du site.
