Le temple Janggyeongsa est situé dans la forteresse Namhansanseong. Cette dernière, qui protégeait Séoul tout comme la forteresse Bukhansanseong, a été construite en même temps que le temple Janggyeongsa en1638, durant la 16ème année de règne du roi Injo.
