Le site de la forteresse Dongnaeeupsong est un site typique du genre en Corée composé de monts et de plaines. Construit vers la fin de l'ère Goryo et le début de la période Joseon, la forteresse est connue comme zone de bataille durant l'invasion japonaise en Corée en 1592. Après cette bataille, le site fut abandonné puis restauré en 1731 pour aboutir à une forteresse encore plus imposante. Cette dernière possède de nombreuses entrées ou grandes portes. Durant l'occupation japonaise, la plupart des murs de la forteresse furent endommagés ou détruit, seul le mur le long du mont Naansan resista à l'occupation. Depuis 2000, la ville de Busan oeuvre pour préserver le site tout en dégageant les vestiges historiques présents sur le site.
