Donganjae, a traditional Korean style house located near the beach in Donghae City of Gangwon-do, was opened in June 2018. The traditional Korean style house is equipped with modern facilities for convenience while still maintaining the elegant mood of a traditional house. The rooms are located in 5 traditional buildings. The foot bath in the garden gives the feel of a pool villa. Each of the 5 independent buildings (named Mureung, Duta, Chooam, Mukho, and Mangsang to accommodate 3-4 guests in each building) has an upper floor of which the three sides can be opened to command an unobstructed view. The outdoor foot bath in the center of the garden with pine trees relieves fatigue, and the soothing scent of pine trees completes the ambiance. It is possible to cook food in the room. Le pavillon de Mangyeongdae se situe sur le rivage de la côte Est à un kilomètre de l’hôtel de ville de Donghae. Il a été construit en 1613 durant le règne du roi Gwanghaegun pendant la dynastie Joseon. Toutefois, le pavillon a été détruit par des tempêtes, et a été reconstruit par la famille de Kim Samcheok il y a environ 60 ans. Le pavillon offre non seulement une vue spectaculaire de la Mer de l’Est, mais il propose également un panorama apaisant de l’immense pinède qui se trouve au Nord. Si vous regardez vers l’Ouest, vous profiterez d’une vue magnifique sur le Mont Duta au-delà de la pelouse à l’arrière du pavillon, ainsi que sur la rivière Jeoncheon qui se jette dans la mer de l’Est par une falaise escarpée. Comme la vue du pavillon de Mangyeongdae ne peut être rivalisée que par celle du pavillon de Jukseoru à Samcheok, de nombreux poètes de l’ancien temps sont venus le fréquenter.

Le marché de Bukpyeong est ouvert chaque mois les jours se terminant par 3 ou 8. Le marché existe depuis 1796 à Donghae (20ème année de règne du roi Jeongjo). Il se situait à l’origine dans la rue Jeoncheon mais a été bougé à l’embouchure de la rivière probablement aux alentours de 1932.
