Le site de la forteresse Dongnaeeupsong est un site typique du genre en Corée composé de monts et de plaines. Construit vers la fin de l'ère Goryo et le début de la période Joseon, la forteresse est connue comme zone de bataille durant l'invasion japonaise en Corée en 1592. Après cette bataille, le site fut abandonné puis restauré en 1731 pour aboutir à une forteresse encore plus imposante. Cette dernière possède de nombreuses entrées ou grandes portes. Durant l'occupation japonaise, la plupart des murs de la forteresse furent endommagés ou détruit, seul le mur le long du mont Naansan resista à l'occupation. Depuis 2000, la ville de Busan oeuvre pour préserver le site tout en dégageant les vestiges historiques présents sur le site.

Many years ago there was a restaurant (‘Jobang Nakji’) in front of the textile company Joseon-Bangjik (‘Jobang’) that was widely known for its tasty Nakji Bokkeum (spicy stir-fried baby octopus). Wonjojipbul Gomjangeo Gijang Oegajip opened its doors in March, 1991, commercializing grilled eel over a straw fire. It became the inspiration for other grilled eel restaurants to be established in the neighborhood, building the "Grilled Eel Alley" in Gongsu Village. Other than its specialty, grilled eel over a straw fire, the restaurant also features yangnyeom gui (marinated grilled eel), sogeum gui (grilled salted eel), and maeuntang (spicy fish stew), which are available for take-out.

The restaurant was first aired on the TV show “The Nation Now” in 1994. Le musée Bokcheon, un musée d’archéologie situé à Busan, a ouvert ses portes au public le 5 octobre 1996 pour présenter l’histoire consacrée de la ville de Busan, depuis l’ère Samhan jusqu’à l’ère Samguk (période des 3 royaumes). Le musée met en valeur des reliques et anciens objets trouvés lors de fouilles sur une ancienne sépulture de Bokcheon-dong. Le musée présente pas moins de 169 anciens casques, divers types de faïence et armes de fer, trouvés lors de 7 fouilles différentes.
