Le stade “Asiad Main Stadium” est constitué d’une scène en sous-sol et 4 scènes au niveau supérieur. Sa surface est de 330 000 m2, et il est équipé de 53 000 sièges comprenant 252 places pour personnes à mobilité réduite. Le stade peut contenir jusqu’à 80 000 spectateurs. L’installation a commencé à être construite en 1993 pour un budget total de 22 649 800 wons, faisant intervenir 488 000 travailleurs pour 7 ans et 8 mois de travaux. Un stade annexe est aussi present avec une surface de 24 785m2. Le site est désormais un complexe multi-spectacles. Le bâtiment fait de courbes et de volutes est censé rappeler le côté maritime de la ville de Busan et les vagues de la mer.

Ce stade a été le premier à être reconnu comme le premier équipement de pointe en terme de spectacles en Corée par la Fédération internationale d’athlétisme. Le stade est aussi équipé d’écran géant permettant de profiter pleinement des concerts.
