Located at the foot of the tourist hot spot, ‘Hahoe Folk Village’, this restaurant combines a Bed and Breakfast service and offers Andong’s famous local traditional food called ‘Heot Jesa Bap’, a kind of Korean table d’hote offered at ancestral memorial services.
‘Jesa’ is a Korean traditional ritual of remembering the ancestors and giving offerings (mainly dishes called ‘jesa bap’) to the ancestors of each household.
Many interesting wild green dishes called ‘namul’ are elegantly served in porcelain tableware.
You can’t also miss out on Korean traditional pan-fried dishes like ‘jeon’ and ‘sanjeok’ and usually served with delicious homemade sesame seed oil and soy sauce.
Another famous local traditional food is called ‘Andong Gangodeungeo’ which is salted mackerel.

Located to the left of the entrance to Gwandong University, Nokwon Galbi provides a spacious parking lot and roomy dining halls for diners in groups.
Many Japanese tourists visit this restaurant during the Yangyang Songi (Pine Mushroom) Festival.
Because of its great service and food, Nokwon has a number of patrons who visit often.
The restaurant serves seven different side dishes seasoned with locally produced sesame oil along with their famous high-quality meat.
Another house special is their ‘dwaejigalbi’ (grilled pork ribs).

With a folk and country style atmosphere, it mainly serves regional traditional dishes like ‘dotorimuk malim’ (dried acorn starch jelly) and ‘cheongtae jaban’ (a mixture of sea plants and other ingredients).
In fact, the grandmother of this family restaurant herself developed some of these dishes.
Cheonji Garden also has a spacious parking lot and great surroundings.

Hamheung Myeonok is a family operated business for three generations mainly serving ‘naengmyeon’ (cold noodles) and ‘galbi’ (grilled ribs).
A well-known place in Yeongju, Hamheung Myeonok offers the second floor especially for groups.
Cleanliness and hygiene are most emphasized by the owner.
Hand kneaded cold noodles are extra chewy and their North Korean style ‘bulgogi’ (marinated barbeque beef) are quite famous.
Also, try their ‘galbi Jjim’ (marinated and simmered ribs) which is combined with Korean herbal medicine providing a healthy dining choice for visitors.
Excellent service, atmosphere and food.

Boasting a 15-year tradition, Chuncheonok is ready to serve you.
Once you take your seat, you will be served with refreshing bean sprout soup and yummy kimchi such as kkakdugi (diced radish kimchi) and tongbaechu kimchi (whole cabbage kimchi) which will arouse your appetite.
Makguksu topped with flavoured soy sauce, chicken, Yeolmu Kimchi (young radish water kimchi), and thin strips of cucumber and sliced pear will make your mouth water.
Bossam is also popular and draws many regulars.
The place is clean and neat, and the service quality and sanitary bathrooms are first-rate. Take-out is also available.
