Gyeryongsan Mountain Sanshinje Festival is an annual traditional ceremony to worship and celebrate the mountain spirits. The ceremony draws many visitors thanks to the beautiful spring scenery of Gyeryongsan Mountain. There are also many attractions and traditional performances during the event. Yanghwa-ri Village, the main venue of the festival, is where the heritage and culture of Sanshinje ceremony are well preserved.

The Archaeological Site in Seokjang-ri, Gongju is located approximately 6 kilometers out of the city of Gongju, on the northern banks of the Geumgang River. The site is one of Korea's representative relic sites of the Old Stone Age, and is designated Historic Site No. 334. The site was excavated 10 times between 1964 and 1974 by teams from Yonsei University Museum. The excavation of 27 layers of stratum produced relics proving people lived in the area through 11 cultural eras. The area was excavated again in 1990 and 1993, producing even more cultural artifacts and helping to create a clearer image of the people living in that time.

Located in Gongju, Chungcheongnam-do, Seokjangni Museum was established in September 2006 to preserve and introduce the culture of the Old Stone Age. There are a variety of exhibitions of relics excavated from the Seokjeong-ri area as well as educational programs available for visitors to learn more about the Paleolithic Period. Mokhyangjae, which literally means a ’house with tree fragrance,’ is a traditional Korean pension house which stands alone beside a boulevard surrounded by apartment complexes. Entering the garden with a low fence, you will be greeted by the antique two-story Korean style building. The building of Mokhyangjae was built in the style of a palace with red pine tree used for the crossbeam and pillars. With a feeling of magnificence and coziness at the same time, the rafter ceiling shows the wood grain and the sliding door pasted with traditional Korean paper adds to the flavor of the traditional Korean style house. The rooms are composed of the traditional Ondol Room where one or two persons can stay; the Ordinary Room is equipped with a bedroom and an attic; and the Deluxe Room has a wide traditional Ondol room for guests from solo travelers to families. The bedroom and the living room also have traditional display cupboard and heavy hardwood table which had been used by the owner of the house, adding to the flavor of the traditional Korean style house. Equipped with cartoons and picture books, the attic is a favorite place of children. Scattered with stepping stones, the front yard of the house is filled with Sansuyu, magnolia, and cherry trees that blossom in spring. Mokhyangjae is running a traditional teahouse as well. The teahouse was opened thanks to the Chinese husband who enjoys tea, and most of the teas are imported from China. You can have a taste of dozens of kinds of teas including puer tea and red tea, along with a simple tea confectionery.

Munui Cultural Properties Site, overlooking the Daecheongho Lake, attracts many visitors. The site was created to preserve and promote the local traditional culture of Cheongwon (Chungcheongbuk-do); it is a great place to learn about local history, culture, and arts.

The spacious complex (132,232m²) is a home to ten traditional houses (Munsangwan, aristocrat houses, a museum, and a tavern), showing a form of a traditional village. It is also full of dolmen stones (symbolizing abundant procreation), Jangseung (totem poles at the entrance of villages or temples), and Yeonjabanga (millstones worked by horses or oxen), providing visitors with opportunities to learn about traditional culture and life.

With a theme of roof tiles, a relics gallery in the complex boasts over 774 local items, categorized by historical period (e.g. the Silla Period, Baekje Period, etc.). Munsan-ri Stone Bridge, believed to have been built during the Goryeo Period, was restored in front of the gallery.

The complex also offers a wide array of amenities including mineral spring sites, playgrounds, and Munui Movie Village (a drive-in movie theatert). Nearby notable attractions include artificial falls, Yangseongsan Mountain, Jakdusan Mountain, Daecheongho Lake, Nosan Pine Forest, Donghwasa Temple, and Bugang Mineral Springs.

Okcheon Hyangsu Baengni (100-ri) Bike Road is a bicycle path located along the riverside of Geumgang River, where one can enjoy the beauty of Daecheongho Lake and the spirit of poetry in the hometown of Jeong Jiyong, one of Korea's modern poets. Daebakjip serves saengseon guksu (fish noodles), a folk dish of Okcheon. It is a noodle soup made by boiling noodles in a broth made by simmering freshwater fish for 12 hours. It began as a meal for fishermen who used to fish by the river in the old days, who began putting noodles into their maeuntang (spicy fish stew). Other interesting dishes include dori baengbaeng (glazed deep-fried minnows), tteokgalbi (grilled galbi patties), maeuntang (spicy fish stew), and bingeo twigim (deep-fried pond smelt).
