An elderly lady with fine wrinkles is still in charge of creating the captivating taste of jokbal (steamed pork hock). Originally, the restaurant did not have a name, but customers referred to it as the “Fat Grandma’s Place.” Sure enough, as you enter the restaurant, you will notice a plump, elderly lady with silver hair sitting at the counter. The place is well known for jokbal with an exquisite combination of rich meat and soft fat. Three or four ingredients, including ginger, are added to the simmering broth to eliminate the strong meat smell. When you order a small serving, you are served radish “water” kimchi as well as two small bindaetteok free. You can order additional bindaetteok too, three for 5,000 won. When you order a large serving, you are served four free bindaetteok. Many customers order jaengbanguksu (spicy buckwheat noodles), which goes perfectly with jokbal.

Haeunjae (下隱齋), meaning “hermit’s residence,” is a hanok (traditional Korean house) residence located in Seochon Hanok Village, near Gyeongbokgung Station on Seoul Subway Line 3. It is dedicated to the ideal of “movies and rest,” and takes after the characteristic form of modern hanok with a small courtyard. The entire house is rented out at once, with a queen bedroom, kitchen, movie room, and two restrooms. Up to 4 guests can reserve the house, with each additional guest above the standard of 2 having access to additional bedding.
The movie room is furnished with a Bose sound system, beam projector, and screen, along with a mobile foot bath. Le Musée National d'Art Contemporain de Séoul a ouvert ses portes en 2013 au centre de Séoul à côté du palais Gyeongbok. Le musée a adapté un concept de 'cour' pour mieux se mélanger aux alentours et lier organiquement l'extérieur et l'intérieur du bâtiment.

Sur le terrain du musée, il y avait autrefois quelques grandes organisations administratives de l'époque Joseon mais aussi les hôpitaux militaires lors de la colonisation japonaise.
