Das Gangneung Danoje Festival ist ein altes traditionelles Fest, das am Dano gefeiert wird. Dano ist am fünften Tag des fünften Monats nach dem Mondkalender und zusammen mit Seollal und Chuseok einer der drei wichtigsten Feiertage in Korea. Es wurde 2005 von der UNESCO zu einem immateriellen Weltkulturerbe erklärt.
